PhysiosSydney physiotherapy SEO

Physio SEO Sydney | Local SEO for physiotherapy clinics.

Sore backs, sports injuries, post-surgery rehab and clinical pilates. When someone nearby searches what hurts, we help your physio clinic show up first, with a booking link one tap away.

  • Free 3-minute video review
  • Written within AHPRA's advertising rules
  • Western Sydney based
Example. Patients search the sore spot before they search for a clinic. Each label is a search your physiotherapy clinic can rank for.

01Physio SEO

Pain first, clinic second.

Physiotherapy SEO starts with how patients search. Most don't type "physio". They type what hurts, or the treatment a friend or their GP mentioned. Your clinic needs to be the answer to both.

Conditions

They search the problem.

Back pain, a rolled ankle at netball, a knee after surgery, dizziness that won't settle. A condition page explains what's usually going on, how a physio assesses it and when to see a GP instead, then shows how to book.

  • sports injury physio Parramatta
  • physio for back pain near me
  • post surgery knee rehab
  • vestibular physio Sydney
Treatments

They search the fix.

Others already know what they want: clinical pilates classes, dry needling, a women's health physio. A treatment page says who delivers it, what a session looks like, class times if there are any, and the cost.

  • clinical pilates Penrith
  • dry needling near me
  • women's health physio Castle Hill
  • hydrotherapy physio Liverpool

Condition pages and treatment pages link to each other. "Lower back pain" points to clinical pilates and exercise rehab, and the pilates page points back. That web of pages is what tells Google your clinic covers the topic properly.

02Local SEO for physiotherapists

Set up the profile like a clinic.

Category first. "Physiotherapist" is the primary category for almost every clinic. Extras such as "Sports massage therapist" or "Pilates studio" help only if you genuinely run that service, with the staff and times to back it up. Google checks your website for the same signals.

Then services, hours and a booking link. We list every service you offer and write descriptions for the top 20 (Google allows up to 99). Your booking link goes straight to your online booking page, whether that's Cliniko, Nookal, HotDoc or another system, ideally to the new patient appointment type.

Practitioners, carefully. Google allows individual profiles for public-facing practitioners, but they can compete with the clinic listing for the same searches. We decide case by case, and keep every profile accurate.

Photos of the real place. Treatment rooms, the gym or pilates studio, the front desk and parking. Patients want to know what they're walking into. Fresh, geotagged photos and a weekly post keep the profile active.

03How patients pay

Every funding route is a search.

"Will my health fund cover it?" decides a lot of physio bookings. Clinics that answer the money question on a clear page pick up searches most competitors ignore.

Private health

Rebates on the spot

physio HICAPS near me

Say you have HICAPS so patients claim at the desk, and name the funds you're a preferred provider for, only if you are one. It's a common reason people pick one clinic over another.

Medicare

GP chronic condition plans

physio Medicare plan Penrith

Many people still search "EPC" or "CDM plan". A page explaining how a GP referral works, how many rebated sessions a year it covers and whether there's a gap answers them.

NDIS

NDIS participants

NDIS physio Penrith

Say whether you're NDIS registered, which management types you work with, and whether you do home or community visits. Families and support coordinators search for exactly this.

Workers comp

Injured at work

workers comp physio Blacktown

If you treat workers compensation claims in NSW, a page explaining the process and what to bring gets found by injured workers and case managers.

CTP

After a car accident

physio after car accident

Green Slip claims bring people who have never seen a physio before. Explain how treatment is approved and paid for, without promising an outcome.

DVA

Veterans

DVA physio near me

If you treat DVA card holders, say so on your profile services and on a page. It's a small search, and few clinics answer it well.

Rules for Medicare, NDIS, workers compensation, CTP and DVA change from time to time. We write these pages from how your clinic actually works, keep the wording general, and point patients to the official source for the details.

05AHPRA and physio advertising

Check it before it goes live.

Physiotherapists advertise under the National Law, AHPRA's advertising guidelines and the Physiotherapy Board of Australia's standards. These are the four checks we run on every page and post we write for a clinic.

01

No clinical testimonials

Patient stories about treatment results don't belong on your website or ads, even when they're glowing Google reviews.

"Fixed my back in two sessions!"

Leave Google reviews on Google. Don't copy them onto your site.

02

No promised outcomes

Describe what a treatment involves and who it may help, not what it will achieve for everyone.

"Pain-free in 3 weeks, guaranteed"

Say results vary and that you'll explain the plan at the first visit.

03

Careful with titles

Words like "specialist" have rules around who can use them. "Sports physio" describing your work is different from claiming a specialist title.

"Sydney's leading specialist physio"

Use qualifications and experience you can show, and skip superlatives.

04

Offers with clear terms

A free assessment or a discount on a first visit is an inducement under the guidelines. It needs its terms stated clearly.

"Free first session!"

Say what's included, who it's for and any conditions, on the same page.

General information, not legal advice. Read AHPRA's advertising guidelines and the Physiotherapy Board's guidance on ahpra.gov.au, and check with them or the APA if you're unsure about something specific.

06The rehab plan

Twelve weeks, then every week.

Like a good rehab program, it's staged. Each stage builds on the last, and you approve anything patients will see.

  1. Week 1

    Assessment

A geo-grid ranking scan for your main condition and treatment searches, your profile and reviews next to the top 10 clinics nearby, and a check for fake listings.

  2. Weeks 2 to 4

    Profile

Category, every service with descriptions, your Cliniko, Nookal or HotDoc booking link, accurate hours, photos and service areas.

  3. Weeks 5 to 8

    Pages

Title tags, headings, schema, a map and matching details, then condition, treatment, funding and suburb pages, written to AHPRA's guidelines.

  4. Weeks 9 to 12, then ongoing

    Strength

Listings, health directories, referrer and club links, weekly posts, geotagged photos and a steady flow of reviews.

FAQ

Physio SEO questions.

What clinic owners ask us before getting started.

SEO for physiotherapists is the work that gets your clinic found on Google when people nearby search for a physio, a condition or a treatment. It covers your Google Business Profile, map rankings, condition and treatment pages, reviews and listings, so you show up for searches like "physio near me" or "clinical pilates Penrith".

Physio SEO puts your clinic in front of people at the moment they're looking, in the map pack and the normal results. With a direct link to your online booking page and clear answers about cost and rebates, more of those searchers book without needing to call.

"Physiotherapist" is the right primary category for almost every clinic. Add categories like "Sports massage therapist" or "Pilates studio" only if you genuinely offer that service. Avoid categories that describe a different profession or business.

Local SEO for physiotherapists focuses on Google Maps: ranking your clinic in the top three for searches in your suburbs. It's driven by your profile, accurate details everywhere, reviews, local links from clubs and referrers, and pages that match what patients search.

Both. Some patients search what hurts, like "lower back pain physio", and others search the treatment, like "dry needling near me". Separate pages for each, linked to each other, help you rank for both kinds of search.

Your website, Google profile and posts are advertising, so AHPRA's guidelines apply. That generally means no clinical testimonials, no promised outcomes, careful use of titles like "specialist", and clear terms on offers. This is general information, not legal advice.

Usually, yes. Your profile can carry a booking or appointment link that points to your online booking page, and some booking platforms offer their own Google integration. We set it to the right page, ideally the new patient appointment type.

If you treat those patients, yes. Each one is a specific search with fewer clinics competing, and a clear page answers the questions patients, families and case managers ask before booking.

It depends on how many locations, suburbs and services you want to rank for, and how strong the clinics around you are. Start with the free 3-minute video review. We'll show where you stand and quote from there if you want help.

Profile fixes often show movement within weeks. Ranking across several suburbs for busy searches like "sports physio" usually takes a few months of pages, reviews and links. Nobody can honestly guarantee a #1 spot.

The foundations are the same, but the searches, categories and rules differ. Physio searches lean on conditions, rehab and funding routes like NDIS and workers comp. See our pages on SEO for chiropractors and SEO for dentists for how those differ.

Barely anything. You just do what you do best: Turn phone calls into customers.
