ElectriciansSydney Google Ads

Google Ads for Electricians Sydney | PPC for electrical contractors.

Emergency callouts at 9pm. Switchboard and EV charger quotes at 10am. We run electrician Google Ads that know the difference, so you pay for calls from people who need a sparky, not clicks from people who want to become one.

  • Free 3-minute Google Ads review
  • Every call and form tracked
  • Western Sydney based
Example. Emergency ads stay on and bid harder after hours. Quote ads for switchboards and EV chargers only run while people are booking work.

01Electrician Google Ads campaigns

Split the 2am call from the quote.

A blackout and a switchboard upgrade are both electrician Google Ads clicks, but they behave nothing alike. One wants a phone number now. The other wants photos, a price range and a reason to trust you. Put them in one campaign and one budget, one bid and one ad end up doing two jobs badly.

01

Emergency callouts

After-hours and 24/7 searches. Call ads and call assets, a tight radius around where your vans actually are, and bids that rise when the phone is most likely to ring.

  • emergency electrician near me
  • power out no electricity
  • electrician open now
02

Switchboards and safety

Switchboard upgrades, safety switches and smoke alarm installs for landlords and sales. People compare here, so the ad sends them to a page about that exact job.

  • switchboard upgrade Penrith
  • safety switch installation
  • smoke alarm compliance rental
03

EV chargers, solar and batteries

High-value planned work with buyers who research for weeks. Worth its own budget, if you hold the accreditations the work needs.

  • EV charger installation Sydney
  • home battery installer
  • solar inverter replacement
04

Data, lighting and the rest

Data cabling, TV points, downlights and ceiling fans. Smaller jobs with smaller budgets, often better added to a campaign above or left to SEO.

  • data cabling installer
  • LED downlight installation
  • ceiling fan installer near me

Why separate campaigns matter: each one gets its own budget, schedule and ads. A quiet week for EV chargers doesn't starve your emergency ads, and a busy night of blackouts doesn't spend the month's switchboard money by 10pm.

02Ad schedule and call ads

Answer the phone, or pause the ad.

An emergency electrician ad that runs at 1am and rings out to voicemail is money spent teaching someone to call the next sparky. So the first question we ask isn't about keywords. It's: when do you actually pick up?

We build the ad schedule around your real hours. Emergency campaigns run only while someone answers, with higher bids in the evening and overnight windows when those calls are worth most to you. Quote campaigns run in business hours, when people are booking work, not standing in a dark kitchen.

On mobile, a call asset puts a call button right under your headline. For an emergency, that tap is the whole conversion. We only count calls over a set length as leads, so a wrong number never looks like a job.

Local Services Ads. Where Google offers Local Services Ads for electricians in your area, they can sit above the normal ads with a verification badge and charge per lead rather than per click. Availability in Australia depends on the category and location and has changed over time, so we check it for your business instead of promising it.

Example ad schedule

Evenings, 5pm to 10pm Emergency only, bids up✓
Overnight Emergency only, while someone answers✓
Saturday Emergency, plus quote ads in the morning✓
Overnight with nobody on the phone✕

Example. Your schedule is built from the hours you really answer, then adjusted once we can see when calls come in.

03Negative keywords for electricians

Stop paying for job hunters.

"Electrician" is one of the most searched trade words in Sydney, and plenty of those people want to become one, not hire one. Every apprenticeship, course or salary search that clicks your ad is money gone.

Negative keywords stop that. Our starting list for electrician PPC blocks jobs, careers, apprenticeship, course, TAFE, licence, salary, wage, DIY, how to, YouTube, Bunnings, parts and wholesale. Then we add the work you don't do. No solar? Solar gets blocked.

After launch we read the search terms report every week, then fortnightly once it settles. Real searches, real money. Anything that won't turn into a paying job gets struck out.

Example search terms report. Struck-out terms become negative keywords, so the ad never shows for them again.

04Level 2 electrician advertising

Level 2 work. Fewer searches, bigger jobs.

Level 2 Accredited Service Providers work on the network side of the meter: new connections, service mains, overhead to underground conversions, private poles. In Sydney that means the Ausgrid or the Endeavour Energy network area, and people often type the network name straight into Google.

These searches are small, so they get buried in a broad campaign. In their own ad group, with ads that name your ASP level and the network you work in, they can be some of the most valuable clicks an electrician buys.

Only advertise accreditations you hold. We'll ask to see them before we write a word, and your contractor licence number goes where customers can see it.

Level 2 searches we group together

  • level 2 electrician near me
  • ASP level 2 Sydney
  • overhead to underground conversion
  • new power connection Endeavour Energy
  • Ausgrid level 2 electrician
  • service mains upgrade
  • consumer mains replacement
  • private power pole replacement
  • temporary builders pole
  • 3 phase power upgrade

05Electrician PPC tracking

Count the calls, not the clicks.

Clicks are what Google charges for. Calls and quote requests are what you get paid for. If your account can't tell them apart, nobody can say which ads are working.

  1. 1

    Calls from the ad

Call assets with a Google forwarding number record each call and how long it lasted, so short hang-ups don't count as leads.

  2. 2

    Calls from your website

A tracked number shows to people who arrived from an ad, so someone who reads your switchboard page first and then rings still counts.

  3. 3

    Forms and quote requests

Every form sent from the landing page is tracked, with the job type attached, so you can see which campaign produced it.

Then you get a cost per lead for each campaign. Every month we report it in plain English: what you spent, how many calls and forms each job type produced, and what we're changing. If a campaign can't produce leads at a cost that works for your job values, we tell you and cut it.

Ads and SEO do different jobs. Ads pay for clicks today. The map pack brings calls you don't pay per click for, and that's what our SEO for electricians covers. Many sparkies run ads while their rankings build, then point ads at the jobs SEO hasn't won yet.

FAQ

Electrician Google Ads questions.

What sparkies ask us before handing over their ads account.

It means paying Google to show your electrical business at the top of search results when someone nearby searches for an electrician, and paying when they click or call. Done properly, it covers campaign structure by job type, an ad schedule that matches your hours, call assets, negative keywords, landing pages and tracking of every call and form.

There are two parts: your ad spend, which you pay Google directly, and management. What you should spend depends on your suburbs, the jobs you want and the hours you can answer. We don't publish prices. After the free review we recommend a starting budget and quote the management.

It can be, when the calls are tracked and the waste is cut. Emergency and switchboard searches come from people ready to book. The usual reasons electrician PPC fails are paying for job seekers and DIY searches, ads running when nobody answers, and no way to tell which clicks became jobs.

For emergencies, the call button is what matters most. Google has been shifting call-focused advertising toward call assets on standard search ads, so the right format depends on what your account offers. Either way, we set a minimum call length so only real conversations count as leads.

Start with jobs, careers, apprenticeship, course, TAFE, licence, salary, wage, DIY, how to, YouTube, Bunnings, parts and wholesale. Then add any work you don't do, such as solar or air conditioning, and keep adding from your search terms report every week or two.

Yes, if you hold the Level 2 ASP accreditation for that work. Give it its own ad group and ads that name the network area (Ausgrid or Endeavour Energy). NSW rules generally require licensed contractors to show their licence number in advertising, so we include it. This is general information, not legal advice. Check with NSW Fair Trading.

Google has offered Local Services Ads for some trades in some Australian cities, and availability has changed over time. If they're open for electricians in your area, they can be worth running next to search ads. We check eligibility for your business during the review.

They do different jobs. Ads can put you at the top of Google within days and you pay per click. SEO for electricians builds Google Maps rankings that bring calls without paying per click, but it takes months. Many electricians run both.

Ads can show within days of approval. The first few weeks are about cleaning search terms and finding the hours and suburbs that produce calls. We report what's happening from the first month, so you're never guessing.

Yes. We're based in Western Sydney and manage Google Ads for electricians and other trades across Sydney. You set the suburbs you want work in, and we target those, not the whole city.

Barely anything. You just do what you do best: Turn phone calls into customers.
