At a glance
- Sydney mould removal company, priced a little above competitors, with steady traffic from Google Ads.
- Visitors were arriving but leaving without calling or filling in the form. The ads were working. The website wasn't.
- We rebuilt the site around the offer, proof, urgency and a simpler enquiry. No change to ad spend.
- Within 14 days: leads up 40% to 14, and around $6,000 in extra revenue.
The business
AAA Mould Removal helps Sydney homeowners dealing with mould, often after leaks or water damage, when the problem needs sorting quickly. They price themselves slightly above most competitors, which reflects the quality and professionalism of the work. Customers who pay a bit more need a reason to, and the website is where they look for it.
The problem
On paper, the marketing was working. Google Ads was sending a steady stream of people to the website every day. Traffic wasn't the issue. Conversions were.
Most visitors read a little and left without calling or sending an enquiry. Every one of those visits had been paid for. The business was buying attention and losing it on the last step, which meant the money leaking out was coming straight from the ad budget.
More traffic into a leaking website just means paying for more people to leave.
Finding the constraint
The usual advice at this point is to spend more on ads. We looked at the whole path a customer takes instead: search, ad, website, enquiry. The biggest constraint wasn't getting people in. It was what happened once they arrived.
So we left the ad spend exactly where it was and focused on the one thing that was holding everything else back: conversion rate, the share of visitors who actually get in touch.
What we changed
We restructured and rebuilt the website with one goal: turn the traffic they were already paying for into booked jobs.
- The offer, straight away. Within a few seconds a visitor knows what AAA does, where, and why they're worth calling.
- Proof and authority up front. Trust signals moved to where people make their decision, not buried at the bottom of the page.
- A simpler enquiry. Fewer steps and fewer fields between deciding to get in touch and actually doing it.
- Stronger calls to action. A clear next step on every screen, not just at the end.
- Urgency, honestly. Mould spreads and gets worse. The page now makes it clear why acting today matters.
The results
Within two weeks of the new site going live, with no increase in ad spend:

No new channel, no bigger budget. Just clearer messaging and an easier path from landing on the page to getting in touch.
What to take from it
If you're already getting visitors, from ads, Google Maps or anywhere else, the cheapest growth is usually on your own website. Before you spend another dollar on traffic, it's worth knowing how much of the traffic you already have is walking away, and why.
This is how we approach every Google Ads account we take on: the ad, the search terms and the landing page are one system. You can see the ranking side of the same thinking in the Design Timber Flooring case study, or browse all our case studies.
